MamaNatalie is a highly realistic simulator for training control of post partum hemorrhage, the number one maternal killer The simulator is strapped onto the instructor, who manually controls the amount of bleeding and condition of the uterus to set the scenario and respond to the student's performance. The instructor can also control dilation of the cervix, position and delivery of the baby, delivery of the placenta, and fetal heart sounds. MamaNatalie comes complete with the newborn simulator NeoNatalie.

MamaNatalie has been developed in response to the IJGO Evidence-for-Action call for ”significantly lower cost, durable, easy-to-disassemble-and-sanitize high-fidelity mannequins with culturally appropriate features”.

In support of the UN Millenium Development Goals 4 and 5 Laerdal has committed to providing the NeoNatalie and MamaNatalie simulators to developing countries on a not-for-profit basis through 2015. NeoNatalie is available now. Mamanatalie is expected to become available in late 2010.
